Show notes:

  • Impartation and internship are also crucial in leadership development. And they must be done in a relationship, within close proximity, and in partnership with other people. Who are you getting your impartation from? Who are you imparting to? Who are you being led by and who are you giving a chance to lead?
  • Growing in knowledge is not the same as growing in wisdom and in love.
  • The best place to get corrected is an empowering place of grace and truth, which is what we have in campus ministry. And we have this because of Jesus—the Gospel is full of grace and truth.
  • “…the source of everything respectable in a man either as an intellectual or as a moral being, namely, that his errors are corrigible. He is capable of rectifying his mistakes, by discussion and experience. Not by experience alone.” – John Stuart Mill, On Liberty
  • Our errors are correctable and our mistakes can be made new. So it’s not about how perfect we are, but about our capacity to correct our mistakes through discussion and experience. Discussion shows how experience is to be interpreted. Who are you processing your experiences with?
