To be a follower of Jesus is to serve others, regardless of whether you are a leader or not. This also means that for Christian leaders, your position and your achievements do not matter unless they serve others.
1:55 – What does serving others look like in Christian Leadership?
6:41 – Matthew 20:25-28 (Often used as a verse about leadership)
17:25 – Chase service, not leadership.
23:51 – If you’re a leader, remember that in God’s eyes, none of that achievement matters until it serves the people. Greatness is service. You come to serve; serve without seeking appreciation or recognition.
“Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’”
Luke 17:7-10 (ESV)
Don’t chase leadership. Look for opportunities to serve.
25:59 – What are you called to do right now? You can serve wherever you are.
