Season 2 na ng The ENC Leadership Podcast at kasama ng bagong season ay bagong series tungkol sa discipleship. Ano ang bago dito at bakit kailangan nating pakinggan?
01:59 We will be talking about a new topic today. It is very exciting because we are in a challenging season… Even in this challenging season… hopefully we get to help one another.
03:30 Dean: When we say “making disciples,” it is about the calling of Jesus in Matthew 28:
“Go and make disciples of all nations…”
This means evangelism and discipleship. It is about preaching the Gospel and helping other people follow Jesus all the more. This became more challenging this pandemic because a lot has changed in the way we preach the Gospel and make disciples.
04:21 JV: It is important for us to talk about this because we believe that evangelism and discipleship continues no matter what the circumstances.
04:48 Dean: The heart of evangelism and discipleship is the Gospel itself… For us who have put our faith in Jesus Christ, the Gospel is at work in all of us… ‘Yung pagbabagong ginagawa ng Gospel sa puso natin ay hindi natitigil at ‘yung pagbabagong gagawin ng Gospel sa puso ng ibang tao at ng buong mundo ay hindi natitigil… It’s only the Gospel that won’t stop working in the hearts of the people.
06:09 JV: I remember 2 Timothy 4:2 (NLT):
“Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not.
Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.”
As leaders and disciples, walang kondisyon o sirkumstansya ang hinihintay para mag-preach tayo ng Gospel… Whether it is favorable or not, we will preach the Gospel…
08:28 JV: We are not saying that the problems of our society or this pandemic are not important. These are important! In fact, the reason we are pounding on the importance of making disciples this season is because we see that this is the best solution to everything that is happening… As Christians, God has entrusted us and commissioned us to continue to make disciples in every season… We are empathizing with the importance of making disciples in this season because the Gospel is the best cure for the sins of man… As Christians, we will continue to talk about this because we will never stop making disciples.
09:50 Dean: Kasi ‘yung puso natin ang pinaka may problema… The greatest problem that we have is sin. But the solution for our hearts to be transformed is the Gospel… We preach the Gospel during pandemic because it is the Gospel that we need in our lives. It is what the people need… Even in this unfavorable season, we and all of humanity have a hope in the Gospel…
11:36 JV: The continuing verse, in 2 Timothy 4:5 (NLT) says:
“But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.”
This season just exposes all the more that the very thing that we need is God. We have been dependent on a lot of things apart from God prior to the pandemic. God wants us to be aligned to him. Let us go back to Him as our God and Savior, and to His mission, and that is to make disciples and preach the Gospel to other people.
